Do I need a passport?

Yes. A valid passport is required for travel to France. 

Your passport should be valid for at least six months beyond your return date and must have at least one blank page for entry stamps. 

If you do not currently have a passport, we recommend applying as soon as possible to avoid processing delays. 

 

Do U.S. citizens need a visa?

No visa is currently required for U.S. citizens traveling to France for tourism under 90 days.

However, beginning in 2026 travelers will need an ETIAS travel authorization:

ETIAS Travel Authorization (Starting in 2026) 

  • Beginning in 2026, U.S. travelers visiting many European countries, including France, will be required to obtain an ETIAS travel authorization before traveling.
  • ETIAS stands for European Travel Information and Authorization System. It is not a visa, but a travel pre-authorization similar to the U.S. ESTA system used for visitors entering the United States.
  • Key Things Travelers Should Know
    • Who needs it: U.S. citizens and travelers from other visa-exempt countries visiting Europe for tourism.
    • Cost: Approximately €7 (about $8 USD).
    • How long it lasts :An ETIAS authorization is typically valid for 3 years or until your passport expires.
    • How to apply: Applications are completed online and usually take only a few minutes.
    • Approval time: Most applications are approved within minutes, though travelers should apply at least a few weeks before departure just in case. 

 

Is travel insurance included? 

Yes. Your package includes Cancel for Any Reason (CFAR) travel protection. 

This coverage allows you to cancel your trip for any reason and receive trip credit for the amount paid, minus the cost of the insurance. 

The credit can be applied toward a future trip booked through the agency. 

 

What happens if I need to cancel my trip? 

If you need to cancel your trip, the following applies: 

  • The included Cancel for Any Reason insurance provides trip credit for the amount paid (minus the cost of insurance). 
  • The credit can be used toward a future trip booked with the agency. 

We strongly recommend notifying the travel coordinator as soon as possible if your plans change.
